Antique Sheraton mahogany New England wing chair c.1810 with turned reeded mahogany front feet and large tapered rear feet. The secondary wood for the back and the wing arms is pine. The mahogany front and back feet are mortised together with birch wood. The back feet are applied to the pine secondary wood above the birch and mahogany union, as shown on the back view of the chair. The pine secondary wood on both side and back views is mortised together and the original fabric strapping providing rigidity. The seat cushion is filled with feathers and the piece is ready for upholstery. The chair measures 43″ high, the front is 23″W, the back is 28″W, and the arms are 25 1/2″ high. Custom made of muslin and feathers cushion, front is 25″ W, back 18″ W and 32 1/2″ tall.
